Power of a place

I have been there for nearly 10 years. The streets, shops, people, evening walks, movie theatres, the people. Everything. Everything about that place still rings many bells in my heart. Leaving it made me feel as if I am leaving my close friend. I still remember the taste of street food, the smile on those people’s faces and the screams I made in the movie halls. Everything feels like yesterday. And yesterday feels like everyday when it comes to that place.

2 years went by and many changes happened in my life both personally and professionally. People judged me, people blamed me, people insulted me.What not! I was almost in a mess.

Then one day when I was just reading a book it hit me. Now that everyone took me for granted, I felt so lonely, so numb and so lost. Where can I find my solace again?where can I feel warm again? So many questions popped my head and finally I got an answer. “Hometown”. Yes, hometown has that power of making you feel peaceful from within.

No matter how much we go crazy about city life, it is our hometown that makes us feel ourselves again. All the memories flashed infront of me. My college days, the street food, the temple, the church, friends, book shops, everything. My mind just got relaxed for a minute.

I just wanted to hug my hometown for a moment if possible for so many months to come. I wanted to watch a movie, I wanted to go crazy with my friends. I wanted to go for a walk in my regular place. What not!? Everything!!

The feeling and the bond that you have for your place can never be replaced by any other place in my opinion.

My long lost friend,my silent companion. My hometown.
